Round vase wheel thrown on the potters wheel using a soft white clay. It was altered then burnished to a smooth satin sheen and fired in an electric kiln. At the end of the firing it was pulled from the kiln while still hot and I then dropped individual strands of horsehair on the surface which left the dark carbon lines from where the hair burned off. Finally I sprayed the surface with an iron rich solution which turned the white clay surface the rich burnt orange color you see in the picture. Measures approx 6"x5" round and my signature is on the bottom. Small white partridge sculpture not included.
Not suitable for food or liquids of any kind. Makes a stunning accent and conversation piece to any home decor.
