I threw this sweet vase on the potters wheel with white clay, then after it was dry I burnished it by hand to obtain a very smooth to the touch satin sheen. Then it was fired in a kiln and once it reached a high temperature, I opened the kiln and dropped individual strands of horsehair onto it which left squiggly black markings on the surface of the pot. This piece measures 7.5" high and 4.5" wide. The open top will hold lots of dried or silk flowers and makes a beautiful end-of-summer/fall compliment to any decor and at anytime throughout the year. Does not hold water. Signed on bottom.
